These are the glasses used to serve mojitos, the classic Cuban cocktail created by sugarcane harvesters in the late nineteenth century.
Savored by Ernest Hemingway and popularized by his favorite Havana bar, La Bodeguita del Medio, the mojito is made with gently crushed mint leaves, a hint of lime juice, ice cubes, sugar, white rum, and club soda, presented in these tall, narrow glasses specially made to serve this classic Caribbean drink.
Mojitos are made in a standard cocktail shaker using a wooden muddler to extract the essential oils from the mint leaves (muddler and serving pitcher set available below). The set of four gold-banded glasses stand 8" tall, with a capacity of 12 oz each.
